Enthusiasts keen on owning one of the first Fiat 500 hatchbacks to arrive in the United States now have another reason to be excited. Fiat will offer the Cinquecento Prima Edizione collectors edition package for 500 of the first, lucky buyers of the small runabout.
The 500’s Prima Edizione package was designed with collectors in mind. Each Prima Edizione will have special badges, VIN matched to its order in production, and a five-speed manual transmission paired with the 1.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder engine. Buyers will be able to select from red, gray, or white exterior paint. Production will be capped at just 500 copies.
The announcement was made at the Club Fiat-Lancia Unlimited annual convention last weekend. The brand’s faithful were able to place orders at the event and select their build number in the limited run. A website (www.ciaofiat.com) was set up for prospective buyers who were not there, but would like to be among the first to purchase the 500 through the new U.S. dealer network.
“The Fiat Cinquecento Prima Edizione was developed especially with the Fiat fans in mind,” said Laura Soave, head of Fiat North America.
