Funny how cars evolve in the journey from show stand to production. I can remember seeing this thing at an auto show at one point, and thinking, “Oh, well, it’s an Opel, so it will at least drive decently and have a nice interior.”
Now, on the road? I don’t know what happened. (And I’ve liked most of the Opels that I’ve driven in Europe.) The interior seems cheap, and the steering and lackluster, rubber-band power delivery are downright atrocious. This is possibly the single worst steering I’ve driven on a production vehicle – it’s numb, servolike, and offers up about as much feedback as if the wheel were made of marshmallow fluff. The interior is fine if you don’t examine it too closely, but at anything under three feet, the hard surfaces and cost-cut materials/fit come through. Yuck.
