Read Rusty Blackwell’s comments on driving the 2008 Chrysler 300C AWD.
I still like the 300C quite a bit, although its age is starting to show, particularly in the interior materials (which aged poorly in our 2005 Four Seasons example). I’ve yet to drive the new Pontiac G8, but I expect it to be a step ahead of Chrysler’s LX cars, in both driving manners and assembly quality. I’m sad to see that the 2005 300’s supercool translucent tortoiseshell details on the steering wheel, interior door handles, and shift knob have been replaced with less interesting opaque wood trim. It’s been a long time since I’ve driven a RWD 300C, but I think the steering is less communicative in this all-wheel-drive model. This particular car’s transmission also exhibits some annoying, harshish bumps on downshifts and is sometimes uncertain on upshifts. The Hemi still sounds great, though, and offers plenty of passing urge.
