EDITORS NOTEBOOK: 2008 Chevy HHR SS, Day 2

Read Rusty Blackwell’s comments on driving the 2008 Chevy HHR SS.

I agree with Phil. The HHR SS is definitely underwhelming, a feeling largely attributable to this four-speed automatic. Still, the engine and the chassis tuning make the SS more fun to drive than the standard HHRs, even if the ride is understandably compromised. This HHR has a purple-y/blue paint that’s actually quite nice, although I could do without the seat fabrics that resemble gym shorts.

Nonetheless, I wish GM would build an HHR SS Panel with a five-speed stick. Now how sweet would that be?
