EA’s Need For Speed Rivals Features New Features, Gameplay Options

Over its 20-year history, Need for Speed has become one of the most popular racing games of all time, and Electronic Arts is showing no signs of letting off the throttle with the coming release of Need for Speed Rivals, the newest generation of the game, with more features and gameplay options than ever. Most significant is the addition of the AllDrive feature allowing on-the-fly changing from solo to online gameplay. The game will be available for the XBbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 on November 19, 2013, and the new Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later in the year.

Depending on which role you choose, objective and awards are different. If you are a racer, you gain speed points for taking risks, such as evading cops and capturing and sharing your escapes on video. Accumulation of speed points allows players to unlock new cars and features. Playing as a cop, you get points for busting racers, and unlocking higher-performance police cars and more powerful pursuit features.

Also new on Need for Speed Rivals is the return of the Ferrari brand to the franchise after seven years. Among the Ferrari models features in the game is the F12 Berlinetta. Gamers that pre-order Need for Speed Rivals will receive Need for Speed Rivals Ultimate Cop Pack at no additional cost, which includes a Nissan GT-R Black Edition police car, advanced pursuit technology features and custom livery.
