Question: does adding a car chase to a movie automatically improve the film? We’ll let the cinema geeks debate that on their own time, but we’re inclined to think so, and apparently Dodge agrees.
Not only is the company placing its 2011 Charger in the latest installment of the Fast & The Furious (titled, of all things, Fast Five), but it’s also crafted this cheeky ad spot, which inserts both a 2011 and a hopped-up 1970 Charger into a stereotypical Elizabethan-era love scene.
Funny, perhaps, but we can’t help but think Jane Eyre would be much more entertaining were it packed with muscle cars and stunts performed at wide-open throttle…
That may never happen, but a full marketing blitz for the Charger’s cameos in Fast Five is a certainty. Dodge is planning on wrapping Robbie Gordon’s #7 NASCAR Charger in a Fast Five-themed livery for several races throughout the season. If that’s not enough, devotees of the Fast & The Furious series can also log onto www.dodge.com/en/fastfive for behind the scenes footage, cast interviews and — starting April 5th — a chance to win 1 of 5 custom Fast Five 2011 Dodge Charger R/Ts.
