Dirt Every Day Races a 1989 Volkswagen Van Against 1967 Ford PreRunner

The boys are back again.

Fred Williams is back for season five of Dirt Every Day, this time with a special race he cooked up while the show was on break. On the newest episode, Fred races his buddy Frank through an off-road course behind the wheel of a 1989 Volkswagen Van.

This isn’t the first time Frank has made an appearance on DED. Longtime fans of the series might recognize Frank from his assistance with the mighty Monster Go-Kart way back in episode 28. Frank hasn’t been offroading in a while, so Fred thought it the perfect time to dust off Frank’s 1967 Ford PreRunner pickup truck and get him back behind the wheel.

Fred had to pick up something special to face-off against his buddy, so he turned to the Volkswagen experts at Go Westy for an off-road ready Westfalia. He picks out a derelict but functional 1989 Volkswagen Vanagon, and adds heavy duty off-road springs and tires to prep it for the course.

Frank has mobility issues, so the team adds special hand controls to the large lifted pickup truck. The big-block V-8 engine is refreshed as well.
