Chrysler may eliminate trim levels, add content to low cost models

Both the Chrysler Sebring Limited and Dodge Avenger R/T serve as ‘high-end’ trims, but a possible marketing shift at Chrysler may eliminate both models.

By eliminating the Sebring Limited and Avenger R/T, Chrysler may be able to shift their ‘premium’ content and features into lower-priced models.; If both trims were to disappear, the Sebring Touring and Avenger SXT would become top dogs.

Features that could possibly trickle down into the lower models could include leather trim, heated seats, climate-controlled cupholders, and advanced audio systems.

Although Chrysler hasn’t confirmed the program, it could help drive interest to the slow-selling sedans.; 2008 Sebring sales are down thirty percent from last year, while Avenger transactions have increased by only two percent.
