Jaguar launched its completely overhauled 2011 XJ sedan last year, but its smaller XF, now a few years old, is in need of a slight refresh. A moderately covered, slightly revised XF sedan was recently spotted in Europe, borrowing a few styling hints from its big brother.
Jaguar seems to be focusing the updates on the sedan’s front and rear clip, bringing it closer to the XJ in appearance. Many of the sedan’s front attributes seem to have slimmed down in one way or another; the camouflaged XF’s headlights squint more than they did previously, while the three lower air inlets are also much thinner. The XF’s chrome grille also looks to have lost some of its width. Unlike the front end, the sedan’s rear is fairly well covered, but its tail lights don’t seem to mimic the XJ’s vertically aligned lamps.
We hear that the interior may also be reworked to include more XJ-like elements, as well — not a bad thing. An XF wagon may also be on its way, according to insiders. Although as the updates are minor, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a revised XF within the next year.
