Last week, Cadillac gave us a glimpse at the LED headlight of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade. Now, the brand continues its tease of the full-size luxury SUV with a shot of the interior. If it looks familiar, it’s because we’ve already seen much of it in spy shots.
The dash of this 2015 Cadillac Escalade looks much the same as it did in the prototype, with glossy piano black trim and touch-capacitive climate control buttons surrounding the Cadillac CUE infotainment system. The SUV features a split three-spoke steering wheel with wood inlays matching the trim used in the dash, door panels, and center console. Behind that appears to be an LED screen instrument cluster similar to those available in the XTS and new CTS sedans. The steering column-mounted gear selector looks like it was plucked right out of the recently-revealed 2015 GMC Yukon/Chevrolet Tahoe, with which the Cadillac Escalade shares a platform. Also similar is the large center console armrest and storage bin, though the Escalade’s looks plusher with more stitching and presumably higher-quality materials. Cadillac backs this up, saying, “The new design takes advantage of Cadillac’s cut-and-sew interior craftsmanship technique, enabling precisely elegant surfacing of the instrument panel and door areas.”
Based on the lone teaser image, the interior of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade cabin appears to differentiate itself from those of its platform-mates, and looks like a definite improvement over the outgoing model’s interior. But is it up to the standard set by other luxury SUVs in the class including the Range Rover, Lexus LX 570, Infiniti QX80, and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class? Tell us in the comments below and stay tuned for the 2015 Cadillac Escalade‘s full reveal next week on October 7.
