The long-rumored 2014 Cadillac ATS coupe lives. The two-door ATS has been caught wrapped in camouflage on Michigan streets.
The telltale sign that this mule is the 2014 Cadillac ATS Coupe is its wide and low snout, with its shield-like grille covered by white cladding. Along its flanks the edgy ATS gets interesting; the doors appear to have been lengthened and the roof flows sharply into the rear deck lid, giving the ATS coupe a fastback profile like the outgoing CTS coupe. Around back the two-door ATS has a narrow-set twin exhaust setup, vertical LED taillights, and a V-shaped center high mount stop light that doubles as a spoiler.
Expect the ATS coupe’s powertrains to skip the 202-hp 2.5-liter I-4 and useonly the 272-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4, and the 321-hp 3.6-liter V-6. The Cadillac ATS coupe will likely be available in rear- and all-wheel drive, with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic until GM’s nine-speed automatic trickles down to the ATS lineup.
The Cadillac ATS-V will also be available in coupe form once it enters production. No word on whether the ATS convertible and wagon live on.
The 2014 Cadillac ATS coupe should enter into production early next year. An international debut for the ATS coupe could come as early as this fall’s Los Angeles auto show.
