Mercedes-Benz has been capitalizing on social media big time these days. It is just finishing up a race fueled by Twitter, and have now used Facebook to premiere the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster and 2012 C63 AMG Coupe in its 90-second long director’s cut of its Super Bowl XLV commercial.
The commercial shows numerous models from the Mercedes lineup past and present sneaking away from their owners and traversing various climates, from cold weather to camels. They all joint together at a remote location, where the new AMG models are waiting.
Part of the celebration for the 125th anniversary of the car, Mercedes has used the commercial to showcase some of the greatest models in its lineage. An SSK, a number of Ponton-era sedans, a 300SL Gullwing and Cabriolet, and a Sauber C7 racer are all present, along with the 2012 CLS63 AMG, 2012 SLK and the two new additions to the AMGs.
The ad is a veritable feast for the eyes, and a must-see for any car-lover. The shorter, 60-second long spot will air during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLV, this Sunday, February 6.
