BRABUS Mercedes-Benz S V12 R: Luxury, But In Quite a Hurry…

It’s hard toimprove the Mercedes-Benz S600, but Brabus has quite a package ready for the luxury sedan. With a few modifications, the German tuning firm has produced the new S V12 R — an impressive (if not insane) luxury sedan.

Brabus heavily reworked the 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-12, boring and stroking it out to nearly 6.3 liters, and added bespoke camshafts, reworked inlet and exhaust ports, and larger turbochargers. The 12-cylinder now pumps out 750 hp and 995 lb-ft of torque, which is reportedly enough power to muscle the Mercedes from 0-62 mph in 4 seconds flat, and ultimately to an electronically limited top speed of 211 mph.

All that power is channeled to the rear wheels courtesy of a strengthened 5-speed automatic transmission, and sticky 295/30 ZR 21 rear tires. Brabus also offers an optional locking differential to further aid traction. Brabus also took the time to tweak the S-class’s aerodynamics, and added a unique front air intake that cools both the engine and brake systems.

Brabus apparently views the S V12 R as a four-wheeled executive jet, and the rear cabin is modified to allow passengers to conduct their everyday business. Interior enhancements include a notebook computer, a color printer mounted inside the rear center console, and a 15.2-inch PC screen integrated into the headliner. Electric window curtains provide the rear occupants some semblance of privacy.

Brabus hasn’t revealed pricing for the beast, but as the old adage goes, if you have to ask…
