Is a BMW X5 too small for your tastes?; The German automaker was working on a larger version – reportedly called the X7 – but has cancelled the project.
Had it entered production, the X7 – using the same basic platform as the X5 itself – would have targeted Mercedes-Benz’s GL-class.; Like the X5, the X7 was intended to seat seven passengers; those relegated to the third row would have experienced a marked increase in head- and legroom.
Like other cancelled truck programs, BMW blames the X7’s death as a result of slow SUV sales and rising oil prices.
