Bling Goes Retro: Toyota Creates iQ Disco

Aston Martin confirmed on Monday that it will put its Toyota iQ-based Cygnet into production, but it seems that’s not the only pimped-out iQ making the news this week. Toyota Germany introduced an iQ Disco, and yes, it looks like a disco-ball on wheels.

Creating the disco ball look was rather simple as Toyota wrapped the car in a reflective silver foil. That’s not the only change however, as the automaker also added scissor doors and 18-inch wheels.

As discos in Germany are what we call clubs here, the Disco-themed iQ wouldn’t be complete without a rockin’ stereo. The tiny Toyota certainly delivers, with a full professional DJ system that includes a two-channel mixer, a 15-inch subwoofer, and two record players. If you somehow miss the iQ Disco’s reflective exterior, you’ll certainly here it as the sound system pumps out 1000 watts with a peak volume of 130 dB.

Thankfully for German motorists, they won’t be distracted on the Autobahn by any of these disco balls as it’s built purely for promotional purposes. Toyota will tour its dealerships throughout Germany with the car starting in Cologne.
