If you couldn’t make it to Crewe, England, last year for Bentley‘s garage sale, don’t worry. The British automaker has just embarked on a nine-city roadshow in the United States, during which it will sell parts for its vintage models.
Last September, Bentley held a massive parts clearance at its facility in Crewe, offering some seven million parts for its post-1955 models, as well as for Rolls-Royce models built at the Crewe factory through 2002. The luxury automaker’s sale was a resounding success with American buyers, prompting Bentley to take some of the most sought-after parts on a traveling sale.
With help from Bentley dealerships in California, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Maryland, and North Carolina, the traveling sale will cover 8000 miles between now and the end of October. The show started last week in Beverly Hills, California. Items from original V-8 engine blocks to owner’s manuals will be offered, with a total of over 1000 parts and accessories on hand. All parts come with a three-year warranty, provided they are installed by an authorized dealer. While the automaker admits it couldn’t travel with everything in its expansive inventory, Bentley hopes to deliver what customers are asking for, provided it has the item in stock.
“Our task is to continue to provide these passionate owners and drivers with the service and parts they need,” said Bentley director of aftersales Steve O’Hara. O’Hara claimed that 80 percent of all Bentley’s ever produced are still in existence.
