Aston Martin One-77 Speeds Past 220 MPH in Early Testing

Aston Martin’s forthcoming One-77 supercar may already be the most expensive production vehicle the brand has ever produced, and it’s also set yet another record. Judging by the preliminary test results, it may well be the fastest Aston yet.

Currently undergoing testing at a “secret” facility in “southern Europe,” the One-77 went through top-speed testing last week. The team was reportedly blown away by the result: 220.007 mph in “dry yet windy” conditions.

We’re not too surprised by the astronomical figure — after all, the mixture of the One-77’s lithe carbon-fiber structure and its powerful 7.3-liter V-12 (producing approximately 700 hp) all but guarantee the supercar to be ridiculously fast.

Of course, such power comes at a price. Aston will build only 77 examples, each costing approximately $2 million. Deliveries are expected to begin this summer.
