Remember the chase scene from Die Another Day when Bond maneuvers his Aston Martin Vanquish on a giant frozen tundra? Now Aston Martin customers can recreate this action thanks to a new ice driving program called Aston Martin On Ice.
This ice driving program takes place in Crested Butte, Colorado, on a specially-built Aston Martin facility that includes an ice track with multiple stages like a slalom course, a skidpad, and a full circuit. Participants are taken through a full set of handling exercises and braking tests before putting it all together on a one-mile frozen road course in Aston Martin models like the Vanquish, the V12 Vantage, the Rapide, and the DB9. As befits a true Aston Martin experience, this program also includes a stay at a luxurious boutique hotel in the mountains. The Aston Martin On Ice program joins other Aston Martin driving experiences like a tour of the Rocky mountains, and drive events that take place during Pebble Beach week in August.
Aston Martin first offered an ice driving experience in Europe last year, and the program just finished its first run in the U.S. in February 2014. Aston is far from the only carmaker to let customers slide pricey models on slippery surfaces; Bentley also offers an ice driving experience in Finland called Bentley Power On Ice.
Registration for Aston Martin On Ice is now open for the February 2015 program. For more information, check out Aston Martin’s program website, or take a look at the video below.
