Toyota’s new series of TRD Pro off-road trucks and SUVs goes on sale this fall, and now Toyota has announced pricing of the 2015 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro and 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. The company is also rolling out a new Persona Special Edition for the 2015 Toyota Prius hybrid.
TRD Pro Pricing
The 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro will be the first model in this lineup to go on sale, reaching dealerships in August. All TRD Pro versions of the Toyota Tacoma come standard with four-wheel drive and the 4.0-liter V-6 engine. Prices start at $36,410 with destination for the Access Cab model with the standard six-speed manual transmission, and the Double Cab TRD Pro manual transmission truck starts $910 higher at $37,320. Adding a five-speed automatic to either of these models costs $980 extra.
This means that the TRD Pro package costs around $4000 more than the equivalent Toyota Tacoma with the TRD Off-Road Package, but the TRD Pro trucks do pack a lot more stuff. The list of extra kit includes a TRD exhaust, 16-inch wheels with BFGoodrich off-road rubber, special off-road Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks, and plenty of visual upgrades like a front skid plate and a special Toyota badge on the grille along with TRD Pro floor mats and shift knobs inside.
The 2015 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro comes only in one trim, the four-wheel-drive V-6 model with a five-speed automatic that costs $41,995 with destination. It features similar upgrades as the Tacoma TRD Pro, with Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks, a skid plate, and the same retro Toyota badge on the grille. This all adds up to about a $3200 premium over the roughly equivalent Toyota 4Runner Trail Premium.
Pricing for the 2015 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will be released later, as that truck goes on sale later in the fall.
2015 Toyota Prius Persona Special Edition
2015 will likely be the last model year of the current-generation Toyota Prius hybrid before the redesigned 2016 version arrives next year, and Toyota is releasing a Prius Persona Special Edition to add some interest to this aging gas-electric hatchback. The 2015 Toyota Prius Personal Special Edition adds some exterior design accents and interior upgrades for a cost of $27,810, about equivalent to the Prius Three trim level.
The main exterior changes to the Persona Series car include 17-inch dark metallic alloy wheels, a special Persona badge on the rear, and comes in either Absolutely Red or Blizzard Pearl ($395 extra) paint colors. On the inside, the Prius Persona features black SofTex artificial leather with grey stiching on the seats and steering wheel along with dark chrome trim for the shift knob, door grips, and steering wheel.
The 2015 Toyota Prius Persona Special Edition goes on sale in September.
