2015 Kia Sportage Gets Price Bump, Starts at $22,645

The 2015 Kia Sportage carried over from the 2014 model year, but that didn’t stop the Korean automaker from slightly increasing the starting price of the stylish compact crossover. The 2015 Kia Sportage starts at $22,645 including destination, representing a $150 increase in price compared to the older model.

Available in LX, EX and SX trim levels, the $22,645 starting price gets you the 2015 Kia Sportage LX, which comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity with hands-free operation, and keyless entry. Paying $26,045 gets you the EX trim, which upgrades the compact crossover with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED turn signals on the side mirrors, high-performance dampers, roof rails, a rear spoiler, fog lamps and chrome trim on the exterior. Both LX and EX trims are equipped with a 2.4-liter I-4 that makes 182 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, while the SX comes with the 2.0-liter turbo-four that makes 260 hp and 269 lb-ft. For $28,995 (a $1200 price jump compared to model-year 2014), the top-trim SX also includes dual exhaust tips, LED accent lighting on the headlights, and a unique grille. No matter which trim you choose, the engine comes matched to a six-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive can be added for $1500.

Although the 2015 Kia Sportage comes with a generous amount of standard features including a tilt and telescoping steering column, a number of available packages add certain technological wants. A Popular Package adding a rear spoiler, LED turn signals on the side mirrors, roof rails, and a trip computer is available for LX models for $1000, as well as a UVO package that adds the system in addition to a rear camera for $600, though it can only be had with the popular package. UVO comes standard on 2015 Kia Sportage EX and SX models, but an EX premium package ($3900) throws in navigation, a panoramic sunroof, leather trim, ventilated front seats, push-start button, and a rear park assist system.
