We finally have confirmation the 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe will make its official debut at the 2013 Los Angeles auto show later this month. Jaguar is not giving us much information, but there is a teaser shot and we have plenty to surmise on since we’ve spied prototypes of the F-Type Coupe testing many times over the past year.
From the teaser shot that Jaguar provided, we can see that the basic proportions of the F-Type roadster will be preserved for the 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe. The sleek front end should be near-identical to the roadster, and the muscular rear haunches bulge around the rear fenders just like on the convertible. The greenhouse of the coupe is an all-glass affair, with the glass panoramic roof blending in with the front and rear windshields. The C-pillars should also have an aggressive rake as they taper to the stubby rear deck with a retractable rear spoiler like on the roadster.
We expect the powertrain lineup for the Jaguar F-Type Coupe to line up with the roadster, which offers three models. The standard car comes with a 340-hp, 3.0-liter supercharged V-6, the F-Type S comes with a 380-hp version of the same engine, and the F-Type V-8 S comes with a 495-hp, 5.0-liter V-8. We also wouldn’t be surprised if the coupe model gained an even higher-performance model due to its increased structural rigidity over the droptop; reports suggest that an R-S version is in the cards that could receive the 550-hp V-8 from the Jaguar XFR-S.
It’s possible that the 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe will cost more than the roadster, like Porsche does with the Cayman and Boxster. We’ll know more details when the car officially debuts November 19, and Jaguar says the F-Type Coupe will go on sale in the U.S. in spring 2014.The 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe will also be shown at the 2013 Tokyo auto show, which is the same week as the 2013 Los Angeles auto show.
