2015 Hyundai Sonata Interior Teased

Following up on a teaser sketch of the car’s exterior, Hyundai has released a preview of the interior of the 2015 Sonata. The new midsize sedan will debut publicly in South Korea later this month, before being shown in “major markets” worldwide later this year.

Hyundai previously said that the interior of the 2015 Sonata had been redesigned for better ergonomics and ease-of-use. The seats will reportedly be more comfortable, and the higher-quality interior materials will be more enjoyable for customers to touch and feel. Based on the released rendering, the overall layout of the cabin will be largely similar to that of the outgoing 2014 Sonata. One change will be the dashboard design, which now looks more unified and contiguous in part thanks to horizontally-angled side air vents rather than the current vertical arrangement.

We’ve already seen a teaser photo of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata exterior, which will join the 2015 Hyundai Genesis in using the Korean automaker’s new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. The 2015 Hyundai Sonata is also said to have a much stiffer body and better handling. Greater use of high-strength steel is one change which helped in this department, which coupled with reduced weight, should make for a nimbler and sporty driving experience.

No official release date for the 2015 Hyundai Sonata is available just yet, but we know that it will arrive in the U.S. sometime this year. The new Sonata will debut in Korea by the end of March, at which point we’ll have more information about powertrain and equipment specifics.
