To promote the 2015 Chrysler 200, the automaker today released a new TV commercial called, “Born Makers.” Actor Kevin Yon, who also narrated the award-winning “Born of Fire” commercial shown in the 2011 Super Bowl, provides a patriotic voiceover to accompany clips of the 2015 Chrysler 200.
Just like with its last 2015 Chrysler 200 commercial, which featured Bob Dylan intoning that the best cars are built in the U.S., the “Born Makers” spot plays up the fact that the new 200 is built on American soil. “A car that proves a well-made sedan doesn’t have to cross an ocean to be worthy of American driveways,” says the voiceover. “We made this. The all-new Chrysler 200.” The ad also finishes with a tagline calling the 200, “America’s Import.”
The 2015 Chrysler 200 is built in at Chrysler’s Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in southeast Michigan.
“‘Born Makers’ reminds us that it’s not just dreaming big ideas but also having the ingenuity and commitment to make them happen,” Chrysler Group chief marketing officer Olivier Francois said in a statement. “It’s an homage to American innovation, serving as a reminder that you don’t have to cross an ocean for a car you’re proud to have in your driveway.”
Pricing for the 2015 Chrysler 200 starts at $22,695, after a $995 destination charge, with a 184-hp, 2.4-liter inline-four engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard. An optional 3.6-liter V-6 makes 295 hp and can be mated with all-wheel drive.
The “Born Makers” ad for the 2015 Chrysler 200 debuts on TV tomorrow, June 7, but you can see the full-length clip below.
