General Motors is launching its 2015 model-year cars, and among the noteworthy changes are equipment changes and trim updates for the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic, the 2015 Buick LaCrosse, and the 2015 Cadillac XTS.
2015 Chevrolet Sonic
Like many GM models, the brand’s subcompact sedan and hatchback receive available 4G LTE capability that can make the car a wi-fi hotspot. This system, which is integrated with OnStar, comes with a three-month/three-gigabyte data free trial. There is also a new exterior color added to the palette for 2015 called Blue Velvet, and the Chevrolet Sonic Dusk models, which feature a special exterior appearance package, continue for 2015.
Also new for 2015 is that the 1.4-liter turbocharged engine upgrade is standard on the top-trim Chevrolet Sonic LTZ model. This engine was previously a $700 option for Sonic LTZ models over the standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder. The 1.8L engine will still be standard on LS and LT models; both engines can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
2015 Buick LaCrosse
The 2015 Buick LaCrosse sedan also receives the same OnStar system with 4G LTE and wi-fi capability, and its IntelliLink infotainment system is now compatible with the iPhone Siri Eyes Free function, and can read text message alerts. It also gains new adjustable headrests for the front seats, three new exterior colors (Deep Garnet Metallic, Dark Chocolate Metallic, and White Front Tricoat), and a newly standard backup camera that means the entire Buick lineup now has a backup camera as standard.
2015 Cadillac XTS
The Cadillac XTS luxury sedan receives some equipment reshuffling along with two new exterior colors (Cocoa Bronze Metallic and Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic) and a new interior color (Kona Brown with Jet Black accents and Open Pore Sapele wood trim) for 2015. Lane keep assist is newly available on front-wheel-drive models, power-folding outside mirrors are a new option on all trims, and the top-trim Platinum Collection trim receives new 22-way power front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage. Platinum and Platinum Vsport trims also have a revised rear-seat armrest with radio and sunshade controls, and a new 19-inch aluminum wheel design makes its way onto Luxury and Premium Collection models. The same OnStar with 4G LTE and wi-fi hotspot technology makes its way onto the XTS for 2015 as well.
