Toyota announced today a new marketing campaign for the 2014 Tundra called, “Build Anything.” In addition to print and online advertisements, the effort features three new commercials that show the 2014 Toyota Tundra transforming the backyards of everyday drivers.
“The new Tundra has been engineered and crafted to deliver full-size pickup truck capability that empowers truck owners all across America to build anything,” Toyota Motor Sales marketing vice president Jack Hollis said in a statement. “The marketing campaign reflects this DIY spirit and genuinely showcases the truck’s versatility.”
The three videos show the 2014 Toyota Tundra in use to transform a suburban backyard for more extreme uses. In one of the reversed clips, a sudden burst of inspiration pushes a father to raze his shed and construct a go-kart track; in another, a baseball crashing through a window inspires him to give his back yard the Field of Dreams treatment; and in the “Tree House” commercial, a family enjoys a picnic atop the multi-story arboreal dwelling constructed with the help of a 2014 Toyota Tundra.
The 2014 Toyota Tundra was introduced at the 2013 Chicago auto show with an extensively refreshed design, a more rugged and modern interior, and almost zero mechanical changes. Buyers pick between a 270-hp 4.0-liter V-6 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission, a 310-hp 4.6-liter V-8 with a six-speed automatic, and a 381-hp 5.7-liter V-8 with a six-speed automatic.
Pricing for the 2014 Toyota Tundra starts at $26,915 (including destination), which affords shoppers a regular-cab model with the 4.0-liter engine and rear-wheel drive. Optioning for the fully-loaded 1794 Edition and Platinum costs $48,315. You can watch all three of the new commercials below.
