The 2014 Lexus RX luxury crossover receives a slight price bump this year to go along with a few new features and some slight reshuffling according to a statement from Lexus. The 2014 Lexus RX350 is now priced at $40,670 including destination, and the 2014 Lexus RX450h hybrid model is priced at $47,320, both up $100 from the 2013 model.
The main addition for the 2014 Lexus RX350 and RX450h is a new Apple Siri integration for the infotainment system. Lexus is calling this “Eyes Free Mode” because this technology uses Apple’s Siri voice command technology from iPhone 4S and 5 models, in conjunction with the optional Lexus Enform smartphone integration system. Other changes for 2014 include the addition of pre-brake technology and a forward collision warning system to the optional Pre-Collision System. Previously, this system was only able to preemptively tighten the front seatbelts and brakes when a possible collision was detected; now the system is able to warn the driver with lights and beeps when a collision is imminent. Additionally, the Luxury Package and F-Sport models gain a 115 volt rear seat power outlet, and the F Sport model is now available in the Exclusive Ultra White exterior color.
The 2014 Lexus RX350 is powered by a 3.5-liter, 270 hp V-6 mated with either front- or all-wheel-drive, while the RX450h hybrid model uses an Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter V-6 along with an electric motor for impressive fuel economy ratings of 32/28/30 mpg city/highway/combined with front-wheel-drive. All-wheel-drive is also optional on the hybrid, thanks to a third electric-motor that powers the rear wheels. All-wheel-drive is a $1400 option on both RX350 and RX450h models. A sporty RX350 F Sport model starts at $47,810 and adds special suspension tuning, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and 19-inch wheels and a unique front grille design.
