The 2014 Land Rover LR2 switches to a more sensitive touchscreen interface, and the infotainment system adds improved navigation system scrolling, a QWERTY-layout keyboard for entering addresses, and updates to the satellite radio interface. Last year, the Land Rover LR2 dropped its inline-six engine in favor of a 2.0-liter turbo-four that continues for 2014. Standard equipment includes power front seats, a panoramic sunroof, an 11-speaker 380-watt sound system, and leather seats.
Pricing for the 2014 Land Rover LR2 starts at $37,495 (including an $895 destination charge), a modest increase of $200 compared to last year’s pricing. Pricing for the LR2 HSE model also rises $200 to $39,795, and the 2014 Land Rover LR2 HSE LUX also scores a $200 price bump to $42,395.
The 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a more extensive list of upgrades. The SUV ditches its previous six-speed automatic in favor of a nine-speed transmission, which Land Rover says will improve acceleration and fuel efficiency. The Range Rover Evoque also receives an Active Driveline four-wheel-drive system, which can disconnect the rear axle to improve fuel economy at speeds above 22 mph. The system also has Active Torque Biasing, which uses the rear differential to shuffle torque between the rear wheels, as well as a Torque Vectoring feature that quells understeer by moving engine power between all four wheels.
Other upgrades include the addition of adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, and a feature that can automatically exit a parallel-parking space. There are new wheel designs and some different color and trim choices.
Pricing for the standard five-door 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Pure starts at $41,995 (including an $895 destination charge), which is actually a decrease of $45 compared to last year’s price. The Pure Plus trim level is $44,995, the Pure Premium costs $49,595, the Range Rover Evoque Prestige is $56,295, and the top-spec Dynamic model is $57,195.
The three-door 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Coupe starts at $45,040 in its base Pure Plus trim level, which is identical to last year’s price. Stepping up to the Pure Premium model requires $50,595 and the top-spec Range Rover Evoque Coupe Dynamic is $58,195.
