2014 Kia Sportage Pricing Rises $300 to $22,450

Refreshed crossover is slightly more expensive.

Pricing for the 2014 Kia Sportage has jumped up significantly compared to the 2013 version of the crossover, but that change is mostly due to the fact that Kia has eliminated the stripped-out base model of the Sportage. The 2014 Kia Sportage LX now starts at $22,450, including an $850 destination charge, with front-wheel drive. That represents an increase of just $300 compared to a 2013 Kia Sportage LX, although it’s a full $2600 more than the outgoing Sportage Base.

The 2014 Kia Sportage received a mild face lift that encompassed new exterior styling, more standard interior equipment, and a new base engine. LX and EX models now use a 2.4-liter direct-injected inline-four rated for 182 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque; the Sportage SX continues with an unchanged 260-hp, 2.0-liter turbo-four engine.

The 2014 Kia Sportage LX costs $22,450 with front-wheel drive or $23,950 with all-wheel drive. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth and satellite radio, and a six-speed automatic transmission. The $1600 Popular package adds a trip computer, roof rails, a roof spoiler, LED turn-signal indicators in the mirrors, automatic headlights, a backup camera, and the UVO infotainment system.

The 2014 Kia Sportage EX is $25,850 or $27,350 for front- or all-wheel drive, respectively. It builds on the LX model with features like heated mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 18-inch wheels, an Infinity sound system, dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats. The $3900 EX Premium package adds navigation, a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, cooled front seats, push-button start, and power-folding mirrors.

Finally, the 2014 Kia Sportage SX is priced from $27,750 with front-wheel drive and $29,250 with all-wheel drive. In addition to the aforementioned 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, the SX model adds dual exhausts, LED taillights, HID headlights, a unique grille, and other interior trim pieces. The $2900 SX Premium package adds navigation, leather seats, cooled front seats, push-button start, and power-folding mirrors. Models with that package can also add the $1500 panoramic sunroof.
