2014 Hyundai Azera Price Drops $1250 to $31,895

The Hyundai Azera hasn’t exactly set the full-size sedan market on fire, even after its 2012 redesign, but Hyundai is dropping the price for 2014 in an attempt to spur interest in this sometimes forgotten sedan. There are also a few minor updates to the 2014 Hyundai Azera to accompany this price change.

The 2014 Hyundai Azera splits into two models for 2014, the Azera which starts at $31,895 and the Azera Limited which costs $35,645, both with destination. New standard features on the Azera include a blind-spot monitor, a new gauge cluster with an LCD trip computer display, and a new standard 6-inch infotainment screen. The Limited model adds xenon headlights, power-folding mirrors, heated rear seats, a navigation system, a premium Infinity audio system, and HD radio. A $2150 Technology Package is available for the Azera Limited which adds 19-inch wheels, a panoramic roof, parking sensors, and rear sunshades.

Both Azera models are still powered by a 293-hp, 3.3-liter V-6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai says the steering has been retuned for 2014 for better feel and precision. EPA ratings for the 2014 Hyundai Azera are 19/29/23 mpg city/highway/combined.

With its new, lower price, the 2014 Hyundai Azera matches up better with the other major players in the full-size sedan segment, now undercutting the $32,150 2014 Toyota Avalon. The 2014 Nissan Maxima costs only slightly less than the Azera, at $31,810 with destination, and the 2014 Chevrolet Impala LT is exactly $1000 less with its $30,895 starting price. The 2014 Hyundai Azera does offer more standard features than the Impala and Maxima, though, like a backup camera, heated seats, and leather.

The 2014 Hyundai Azera is on sale now.
