2014 BMW 2 Series Fitted with M Performance Parts

The BMW 2 Series gets spruced up with some M Performance parts.

The 2014 BMW 2 Series only debuted a few months ago, but this new compact sports coupe has already received a full catalog of M Performance parts. These components, which will be available on both 228i and M235i variants of the 2 Series, include mechanical upgrades to the drivetrain and suspension as well as exterior aerodynamic modifications and interior trim pieces.

These BMW M Performance parts go beyond the factory M Sport package available on the BMW 2 Series, which has special 18-inch wheels, a chrome exhaust tip, sport seats, and a sport suspension. On top of this, available M Performance parts include an even sportier suspension that lowers the car 20 millimeters and adds shortened coil springs and performance dampers. There is also an M Performance brake system with painted brake calipers, and an available limited-slip differential for the M235i model.

Other available M Performance parts include numerous exterior modifications like special 19-inch alloy wheels, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, a black grid for the kidney grille, accent stripes, and an available aerodynamic-enhancing body kit that includes a modified front apron, side sill extensions, and a rear diffuser. On the inside, M performance attempt to create a racy vibe with Alcantara and carbon fiber trim pieces for the steering wheel, shifter, and emergency brake handle along with steel pedals and a special Race Display on the top edge of the steering wheel rim. The overall look of a BMW 2 Series outfitted with these exterior upgrades is surprisingly tasteful and adds to the aggressive appearance of this compact sports coupe.

These M Performance parts will go on sale along with the arrival of the 2014 BMW 2 Series in the U.S. in March 2014. These parts will be offered for both versions of the 2 Series that will be available on our shores, which include the 228i, powered by a 2.0-liter, 240-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, and the M235i with a 3.0-liter, 322-hp turbocharged six-cylinder. Pricing for the add-on parts has not been announced.
