2013 Volkswagen CC Priced at $31,070: Still a Bargain?

/strong>The 2013 Volkswagen CC carries on this year with an updated face, revised equipment list, and a starting price of $31,070 (including destination) — which is roughly $1500 more than the present 2012 Volkswagen CC model.

That figure gives buyers a base 2.0T Sport model, which includes a 200-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a six-speed manual, and front-wheel drive. Opting for the six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox bumps pricing to $32,170. Standard features include seating for five (up from four), bi-xenon headlights, rain-sensing wipers, premium sound, heated and power-adjustable front seats, LED taillights, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, and leatherette seating surfaces. LED daytime running lamps and an adaptive front-lighting system is a $360 option for models equipped with both transmissions.

Next up is the 2.0T Sport Plus, which is priced at $33,670. This trim adds standard DSG, 18-inch “Mallory” rims, and navigation. The 2.0T Lux model ($36,175) tops off the four-cylinder range and comes standard with DSG, 18-inch “St. Louis” rims, moonroof, and ambient lighting.

Those wanting more power could opt for the VR6 Lux priced at $38,550. Power comes from a 280-hp, direct-injection 3.6-liter VR6 engine. The DSG serves as the sole transmission choice, which sends power to the front wheels. In addition to the goodies found in the 2.0T Lux, the VR6 Lux includes a headlight washer system, a rearview camera, higher-grade navigation system, real leather seating surfaces, “Interlagos” 18-inch wheels, and memory seats. Finally, the VR6 4Motion Executive model ($42,420) adds all-wheel drive, paddle shifters, driver’s seat massage function, park distance control, Dynaudio sound, and a power rear sunshade.

The 2013 CC is set to arrive in showrooms this spring.
