2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, 2014 Outlander Concepts Shown

Mitsubishi tries to appeal to active lifestyle types with these two one-off crossovers.

Mitsubishi’s presence in the U.S. may be small, but its two crossovers, the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander and the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport are the sole bright spots in the lineup with relatively strong sales lately. Now, these two crossovers have been done up in active lifestyle gear by Mitsubishi and the H360 creative services agency to represent different seasons of the year and the active sports that go with them.

The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Winter Edition is meant for skiers and snowboarders, hence its white paint scheme. On the inside, Mitsubishi installed a special leather interior with grey suede accents and yellow stitching along with two cameras in the dashboard and center armrest for recording action on the slopes. Ski equipment on the Outlander includes a snowboard rack on the roof; all-weather floor mats; matching jackets, snow pants, goggles, and boots in the back; a ski pole-style shift knob; and even an onboard coffee machine.

The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Summer Edition is burnt orange inside and out, with special interior trim to match the exterior color. Numerous warm-weather sports equipment is part of the package, with Trek mountain bikes up top and a special storage compartment in the cargo area that holds a tennis racket, jump rope, workout weights, yoga mats, and a wakeboard vest and water ski rope in the back.

Neither of these Mitsubishi special editions have any mechanical modifications, and they are one-off models that won’t be going on sale. Still, check out the behind-the-scenes video to see the process behind these special-edition active lifestyle Mitsubishi crossovers.
