The Problem: On 2013 Dodge Dart sedans equipped with the with 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo-four engine and six-speed dual-clutch transmission, Chrysler has discovered a problem that could cause the engine to stall. Internal testing of a car that had been parked in a 20ºF climate chamber revealed that it stalled after driving a short distance, and Chrysler says several dealers have reported similar problems with customer cars. There are no reports of injuries or accidents thus far.
The Fix: Chrysler will recall affected models of the 2013 Dodge Dart to reprogram the powertrain control module.
Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 12,900 2013 Dodge Dart sedans with the 1.4-liter engine and dual-clutch transmission. Another 1900 affected cars are in Canada, five are in Mexico, and 16 are outside of North America.
Earlier this year, Chrysler recalled a small batch of 2013 Dodge Dart sedans because the parking brake may not have worked properly.
