2013-2014 Toyota Camry, 2013 Avalon, 2014 Corolla Recalled

Short-circuiting windshield wiper switches.

The Problem: On some Toyota models, including the Camry, Avalon, and Corolla, contacts in the windshield wiper switch might not have been assembled correctly. If a Toyota driver moves the wiper switch from “Off” to the “Mist” setting, it could cause a short circuit that will prevent the wipers from functioning at all, creating a safety hazard in inclement weather.

The Fix: Toyota will replace the windshield wiper switches for free in all affected vehicles.

Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: Approximately 10,000 Toyota vehicles, including the 2013-2014 Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid, the 2013 Toyota Avalon and Avalon Hybrid, and the 2014 Toyota Corolla.
