2011-2012 Ford Explorer

The Problem:

Some replacement steering components manufactured between September 2013 and January 2014 may have been faulty, and if installed in the 2011-2012 Ford Explorer as replacement parts, they could fail and jam the steering.

The Fix: Ford will contact 2011-2012 Ford Explorer owners and replace the steering gears for free, in a recall that begins January 24.

Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 300 2011-2012 Ford Explorer SUVs.

2011 Ford E-150, E-250, E-350, and E-450

The Problem: The windshields in certain Ford E-Series vans may have been manufactured incorrectly, allowing them to form bubbles over time if left in hot temperatures. That will eventually reduce visibility through the windshields.

The Fix: Ford will contact 2011 E-Series van owners to inspect the windshields and, if necessary, replace them for free. The recall begins January 27.

Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 4532 2011 Ford E-150, E-250, E-350, and E-450 vans.
