After weeks of teasing, the wraps have finally been pulled off the new 2011 Bentley Continental GT coupe. While the first-generation car was a revolution for the Bentley brand, it’s safe to say the successor is firmly rooted in evolution.
Although the rakish two-door looks virtually identical to the first-generation car, each body panel is completely different. It’s easy to see some influence from the new Mulsanne sedan in the front fascia, but the curved fenders and sloping roof scream Continental. A good thing, perhaps, since the Continental GTC and Flying Spur will carry on without facelifts for the time being.
Change underneath the skin is also evolutionary, although Bentley does have some powertrain alterations waiting in the wings. For more details on these future engines and the 2011 Continental GT itself, check out our First Look feature story by clicking here.
