First Look: 2010 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT Awards Edition

To celebrate the fact that its Quattroporte has won nearly 56 different awards, Maserati has created a new special model — the Quattroporte Sport GT S “Awards Edition” — that will be unveiled at the 2010 Geneva motor show.

The Awards Edition, it seems, is largely a cosmetic package for the potent luxury sedan. The exterior wears a grey-gold metallic color called quarzo fuso that is unique to the model. Chrome bits on the exterior receive a burnish, including the side air vents and materials surrounding the radiator. Behind the grey 20-inch “Multi Trident” aluminum wheels are polished calipers, developed in partnership with Brembo. The rotors receive their shiny appearance thanks to a hand-finishing process.

Inside, the car sports “Poltrona Frau” leather seating, and an undulating pattern of perforated Alcantara. The trunk is trimmed in black fabric, accented by chrome details and a leather side pocket. Brushed aluminum door sills and trim moldings, finished in a piano black look, round out the upgrades.

Look for the 2011 Quattroporte Sport GT S Awards Edition to go on sale in the second half of 2010.
