Lexus continues to expand its hybrid line as it prepares to unveil the 2010 HS250h Hybrid. The HS250h will be the fourth hybrid in the Lexus lineup and will debut at the same show as the much anticipated 2010 Toyota Prius.
Not much is known about the HS250h, but there is plenty of speculation. One forum shows a couple scanned pages from a Japanese magazine that reveal a very convincing rendering. The car in the picture has a Prius-like shape with Lexus touches. The magazine suggests the HS250h will have the 2.4-liter hybrid powertrain from the Camry hybrid, in place of the weak 1.5-liter from the Prius. It also says the HS250h will get a user interface like BMW’s iDrive as well as LED headlights.
While we wait in anticipation, visitors to Lexus’ consumer site can register to be notified when more information is available about this “revolutionary” new vehicle. The new hybrid will bow at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in early January.
