The pictures you see here are renderings of what the 2009 BMW 7-series might look like when it is unveiled sometime next year. These illustrations are a combination of information gleaned from spy shots of the big sedan captured during testing and cues taken from the CS Concept shown at the 2007 Shanghai Auto Show.
Like the last 3-series redesign that was more evolutionary than revolutionary, the 2009 7-series will return to a more conservative look, instead of the shocking aesthetic that the current sedan is known for. This rendering suggests that BMW may be coming to a middle ground with its exterior design; a compromise between the cutting-edge Bangle look that has characterized its cars over the last few years and the more traditionally handsome appearance displayed prior to the new millennium.
We predict that the renderings shown here are pretty precise. Of course, we won’t know for sure until more than a year from now, but we hope the smoother surfaces and aggressive stance of the sedan in these pictures make it onto the production car.
