2009-2013 Mazda 6 Recalled

161,400 Mazda 6 sedans are being recalled for a defect with the door latch screws.

The Problem: The door latch screws on some Mazda 6 models can become loose, meaning that the door latch would not engage and the door could open while the vehicle is moving.

The Fix: Mazda dealers will apply a thread locking adhesive to the door latch screws, and will also retorque the screws. Service will begin October 18 free of charge to owners.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 161,400 2009-2013 Mazda 6 sedans.
