Preview: 2008 Saturn Astra

ON SALE: DECEMBER / $15,000 (est.)

Seventeen years after GM’s feel-good division launched and five years after the mediocre Ion debuted, Saturn finally has a decent entry-level car. So what if it’s a rebadged Opel Astra? We’ve driven a Euro-spec model in England, and it is a highly competitive product and far better looking than the awkward Ion. Saturn gets two- and four-door hatchbacks, both powered by a 140-hp, 1.8-liter four-cylinder mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic.
