Good news for impatient readers in wintry climates everywhere: the ultraquick Infiniti M45 is now available with all-wheel drive. The new M45x joins the M35x in Infiniti‘s M model line. The all-wheel drive models are powered by the same engines as their rear-wheel-drive siblings, a 275-hp V6 for the M35 and a beefier 325-hp V8 for the M45.
The entire range, which debuted in the 2006 model year, is also getting a minor freshening for 2008. Changes include new bumpers, fenders, taillights, and a modified grille. The interior is filled with all of the usual luxury car trappings.
An optional sport package is available on all models. The package includes 19-inch wheels, a rear active steer system, and unique trim pieces.
Expect the M45x to demand a small premium over the standard model, which starts at $49,100. We loved our Four Seasons M45, partly because of its well-balanced, tail-out handling, but the added traction would have been welcome in the winter.
