2007 Saturn Vue Green Line

The most important thing about the new Vue Green Line Hybrid is the price–simple as that. Starting at around $23,000, the Vue will be the cheapest hybrid SUV on the market. The hybrid system is very simple compared with the Toyota-style arrangement in the ; the Vue essentially uses a belt alternator/starter and batteries to assist the gasoline engine, but it is cheaper to make than the Toyota system. The Vue’s system rarely switches to full electric power, but briefly can shut off the 2.4-liter in-line four-cylinder engine in city driving. The Vue Green Line achieves an estimated 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. That’s hardly sensational, but it is about 20 percent better mileage than a stock Vue. Expect the vehicle in showrooms in the late summer.
