Jaguar R-D6 Concept

At long last, Jaguar seems to be showing the future to the world, rather than re-iterating the past. This concept uses a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 diesel engine that makes more than 230 hp and 360 pound feet of torque, an engine that will make its debut in the European S-type in 2004. More important, it shows that design director Ian Callum really understands where Jaguar should be going. Ignore the hatchback styling, which might or might not appear in reality and look at the stylish front end and the gorgeous interior. Callum says that “the way we have used leather and wood and metal inside is a statement of intent.” If Jaguar management wants the brand to succeed it needs to back bold design like this.
