Saturn vehicles were, until recently, unique with their dent-resistant side panels. The brand was also innovative with its no-pressure customer service and no-price haggling.
The S-Series were later replaced by the mid-sized L-Series which consisted of a sedan and wagon. The ION, which debuted in 2003, took the slot of the defunct SC coupe.
Other vehicles included the Saturn Vue, the brand's first SUV. It debuted in 2002.
General Motors resume full control of Saturn due to the brand's lack of profits. In 2005, Saturn debuted the Relay, its first minivan and first vehicle with regular steel sidings. But it would be the introduction of the roadster Sky in 2006 that caught people's attention in the marque's new direction.
Other vehicles include the Aura sedan, which replaces the discontinued L-Series, and Outlook SUV, which debuted in 2007. The Aura recently won the North American Car of the Year Award for 2007.
GM announced that is has discontinued production of the ION in 2007. The Opel-based Saturn Astra, which is due to arrive later that year, will replace it.
