Here is the sixth generation of the Volkswagen Golf, known as the Rabbit here. Our spies caught it being tested in the desert by a very surly looking man. The new Golf definitely exhibits evolutionary rather than revolutionary changes over the current model. Look especially at the upsweep in the rear window on the three-door. Good stuff. According to Volkswagen, the car was designed with cost-efficient assembly in mind. This should cut down on the car's cost while also making it more profitable for VW. We aren't expecting to see this car on dealer lots until at least the 2010 model year.
