2009/2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe/Wagon - Sneak Preview 2008

Research the 2010 Cadillac CTS

The new Cadillac CTS is a hit, and the coupe that the division revealed at the Detroit auto show looks even better. Sure, it was officially a concept, but check out GM vice chairman Bob Lutz on the two-door: "If you look underneath, you can see that it's a real car . . . It would be reasonable to assume that we plan to expand the Cadillac line to include a car like that." Cadillac design director Clay Dean says, "As a luxury manufacturer, we need a vehicle in every segment, and we really need an expressive vehicle. This coupe is just that." The fact that BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and now Audi all field coupe versions of their entry-luxury sedans has not gone unnoticed at GM. Each brand also offers convertibles, so that body style could well be in the cards for Cadillac, too. And think how nicely a CTS-V version would match up with BMW's M3. But what's perhaps most surprising is that Cadillac is readying a CTS wagon. It's primarily for Europe, where wagons are seen as sporty lifestyle vehicles, but it could be sold here as well. WAGONS HO: The CTS is on a roll? Then roll out some more - if they drive like the sedan does, we won't complain a bit. (Even if we're not convinced that the wagon will sell.)
