Scion's "United by Individuality" ad campaign along with all the custom accessories available for the 2009 tC can be a bit daunting to a buyer. Scion customers may even feel intimidated by the peer pressure to "pimp their ride." Scion has sought to remedy the problem with the latest iteration of the tC, the release series 5.0. Called the tC RS 5.0 for short, this pre-customized sports coupe packs factory installed accessories and limited availability. For merely $2300 on top of the tC's base price, the RS 5.0 offers gloss black paint with TRD edition 18-inch wheels finished in matte black with red trim. Plus, a set of TRD springs are included to lower the car and a TRD sway bar is tossed in to enhance stability. The price also includes a TRD sport muffler to change the tC's growl and TRD badge to round out the exterior modifications. Inside, the tC RS 5.0 has red stitching on its black leather steering wheel, and red accents on its black seats. The car even comes with TRD floor mats. Finally, owners will be reminded of just how special their car is with an individually numbered plaque. Production of the tC RS 5.0 will be limited to 2,000 models. Base price with destination included will be $19,970 for the manual transmission-equipped model or $20,770 for an automatic. The only option will be a rear spoiler for $285. The car will be shown at the Chicago auto show starting February 11th and will hit dealer showrooms in March.
