2008 Buick LaCrosse Super

Research the Buick LaCrosse

Go
Buick's recently introduced Super program emphasizes comfort and refinement over outright speed, which is why we pause a little when contemplating the 2008 {{{LaCrosse}}}: Unlike most Buicks, it doesn't look like it'll be overly boring. For 2008, the LaCrosse gains a nose similar to the one found on the '08 Lucerne, along with some other minor trim changes, but we have to admit: we're more interested in the LaCrosse Super. GM's Performance Division was responsible for Buick's foray into the world of speed and special badges; John Heinricy, erstwhile club-racer-cum-performance-head-honcho-cum-awesome-guy, oversaw development of both the LaCrosse Super and Lucerne Super, and while we're not that enthused about the Lucerne, the LaCrosse piques our interest. Buick's Super cars are focused more on comfort and capability than pure speed, and as such, the laptimes-at-all-costs modifications have been kept to a minimum on the LaCrosse. Revised steering (a specially modified steering rack, designed to reduce friction and improve feel), improved wheel damping (via Bilstein shocks), uprated trim, and Lucerne braking components are all aimed at providing the LaCrosse Super with more over-the-road speed. Woven leather seating surfaces, dual exhausts, and other minor additions such as a model-specific dash woodgrain and shift lever come along for the ride.
