Despite the fact that it is Honda's best-selling model in North America, there has never been a concept version of the Accord shown at a major U.S. auto show. That all changes at this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Yes, that's right: it looks like an Audi TT coupe and a Scion TC had a baby. Honda's new Accord Coupe represents a different design language for the storied Japanese brand, and thankfully, it's one we like. The show car itself has no engine or transmission, but the quad tailpipes hint at the increased performance promised by Honda in the Accord's next iteration. The next-generation Accord V-6 will provide higher fuel efficiency by utilizing Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology; essentially, it's a form of cylinder deactivation that promises no power loss but increased fuel economy.

Our omnipresent spy photographers stumbled across a photo shoot in Canada this week and found the new Accord - both the sedan and the coupe. Both models appear to be V-6-powered, judging by the dual exhausts. |
